The first single off the new Porter LP entitled “Murcielago” has a new video. Hector Castillo made great mixes and I really enjoyed mastering this project even though I have no idea what they’re singin about! HA…
Back in the winter, Jessie and her band came through Rubber Tracks and we recorded the basic tracks for this song and several others. It was really enjoyable session and the tunes were a warm respite from the harsh winter blowing outside the studio. Fastforward to a few months later and Jessie brought the tracks back to me along with all her stellar vocals and additional overdubs to mix. I really enjoyed mixing this song for Jessie, check out the new video below.
No Sleep Records artist, Allison Weiss, released a new EP of super catchy pop songs this week. I mixed and mastered the EP and the lovely and uber talented Joanna Katcher produced the tracks from her west coast perch. The sun is shining all through these tracks. Roll the windows down and turn these up…

“Pinos” is the first new video from the new album of material by Didi Gutman (Brazilian Girls) and my good friend and roster-mate, Hector Castillo. I had the pleasure to master the new album recently and the guys posted this video online along with a cool interview on Refinery29.com

Noisey interviewed the last band in my Berlin Rubber Tracks marathon, Schwarz Don’t Crack, and Jan had a few questions for me as well. It seems a bit bizarre going from my english answers to german and back to english via google translate, so some of what I said sounds ridiculous. The rest just is ridiculous. Have a look and a laugh at me, and a listen to Schwarz Don’t Crack… Serious RnB vibes from NY to Berlin.
I’m in Berlin for 2 weeks recording 14 bands for Converse Rubber Tracks popup studio in Berlin. One of the bands is Soundmonsters and they had the radio station FluxFM hanging out. Somehow I got asked a few questions and well, I dunno if the answers are funny or what. Have a look at the translation and a listen to the band.
Even get a little taste of the rough mix we did in the 8 hours we recorded and worked together.

Here’s a link to a great interview with Jordi Van Dyk who I produced at Rubber Tracks recently. He and his band won the South African Converse ‘Get Out of the Garage” contest and were flown over to NYC to record at Rubber Tracks and do a gig in Paris.
